How many ounces of silver it takes to buy one ounce of gold, from live spot prices.
The ratio is 68.7: one ounce of gold ($4,188.19) buys 68.7 ounces of silver ($60.95).
Since 1970 the ratio has mostly ranged between about 40 and 90, with a long-run average in the 60s. It spiked above 120 in March 2020 and fell below 20 in 1980 when silver briefly soared.
Some stackers swap silver for gold when the ratio is low and gold for silver when it is high, betting it reverts toward its average. It says nothing about whether either metal is cheap in dollar terms.
